Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At our nursery, we are committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, supported, and able to thrive. We take great pride in our team’s training, knowledge, and experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our practitioners work closely with families and other professionals to ensure that every child receives the individual care and support they need to reach their full potential.

As part of our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our children, we have recently developed a dedicated Sensory Room. This calm and welcoming space has been carefully designed to provide children with a quiet environment where they can relax, regulate their emotions, and take a break from the busy nursery setting whenever they need to.

The Sensory Room includes a range of sensory resources that encourage exploration, relaxation, communication, and self-regulation. It can help reduce feelings of anxiety or overstimulation, support children in managing their emotions, and provide opportunities for focused sensory experiences in a safe and comfortable environment.

Since introducing our Sensory Room, we have seen a significant positive impact on many of the children who use it. They are often calmer, more settled, and better able to return to activities feeling relaxed and ready to learn. Seeing how much the children enjoy the space and benefit from it has reinforced our commitment to creating an environment that supports every child’s individual needs and wellbeing.
