about

Outdoor Learning & Play

We place great importance on providing rich and engaging outdoor learning opportunities as part of our daily practice. Our outdoor area is an extension of the classroom, carefully designed to encourage children to explore, investigate, and learn through active play in a natural and stimulating environment.

Outdoor play plays a vital role in supporting children’s gross motor development, helping them to build strength, coordination, balance, and overall physical confidence. Through activities such as climbing, running, riding, digging, and obstacle play, children are able to develop key physical skills in a fun and meaningful way.

In addition to physical development, our outdoor environment also supports children in learning how to work together, share, take turns, and build friendships. We encourage teamwork and social interaction through group games and collaborative activities, helping children develop important communication and social skills.

We take great pride in our outdoor provision and believe it is an essential part of early childhood development. Our practitioners carefully observe children’s interests and use these to plan engaging outdoor activities that spark curiosity, extend learning, and keep children motivated and excited to explore.

By valuing outdoor learning as much as indoor experiences, we ensure children have the freedom to learn in different ways, supporting their overall growth, confidence, and wellbeing.
